IGNACE – The community of Ignace is benefiting from a provincial infrastructure investment to repair the Agimak Lake Dam. This funding is part of a $22 million program to help mitigate flooding and keep people and communities safe.
“As part of our government’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of communities in the Northwest, we are investing in the rehabilitation of the Agimak Lake Dam to mitigate flooding in the Township of Ignace and beyond,” said Greg Rickford, Member of Provincial Parliament for Kenora – Rainy River. “Our investment in the Ignace dam rehabilitation will support the community for generations to come.”
“Our government is taking action to make sure we have infrastructure in place to protect people and communities across Ontario,” said Graydon Smith, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. “With this investment, we will be able to ensure these dams continue to meet provincial standards and prevent significant environmental, financial and public safety implications that can be associated with dam failure.”
